We’ve had our calendars marked for May 19 ever since Tigers Jaw returned in March with news that a new album was coming on that day. After sharing tracks “Guardian” and “June” in that timeframe, the band has shared another new track, “Escape Plan,” from the new album.
“Escape Plan” finds Ben Walsh taking the vocal lead and Brianna Collins providing expert harmonies. The song stays acoustic for its first half, as Walsh sings of the fragility of both himself and a relationship that sounds like its end is approaching. As the song reaches its emotional climax, the electric guitar and drums kick in, providing a matching escalation of sound to go with the emotion.
