Substream has been covering Columbus, Ohio’s Overgrow for the past year or so, watching singer/songwriter/mastermind Jake Ciccotellli take the project to soaring new heights along the way.

Not long after starting in early-2018, Ciccotelli put out his debut EP under the Overgrow moniker, The House You Made, and almost immediately started touring behind it. His relentless effort to put everything he has into the project, and brutal honesty behind his words, Overgrow quickly catapulted into something much bigger before signing with Common Ground Collective and re-releasing The House You Made later in the year.

Never one to waste time — paired with a desire to finish the story that he created with The House You Made — Overgrow released their second EP, The Name We Share, last May via Common Ground. Where The House You Made was a devastating release that detailed the grieving process that Ciccotelli was going through due to the loss of his father, The Name We Share focused on the aftermath and, perhaps even more importantly: the healing of it all. Lead by the impressive singles “The Earth Will Swallow Me Whole” and “Bad Heart,” the second EP showed him refining the sound of Overgrow and laying the groundwork to continue expanding into new territory in the future.

Earlier this year, we teamed up with Overgrow to offer the first glimpse of the future with his single “Hang Over Me.” While it was initially released as a standalone single, the somber “Hang Over Me” was eventually followed by “Broken Things” and the announcement of a new EP. That new EP, Hear Your Voice Again, will be released on December 4th via Common Ground, and today Substream is again excited to be offering you an exclusive listen of the next single from the release, “Say Nothing.”

You can listen to the song, and watch it’s Alex Zarek-directed accompanying music video below.
