If you don’t know the name Caroline Grace, you’re in for a treat right now. The 22-year-old LA-resident is building quite a career for herself. She’s releasing music, of course, and she’s also got some serious business chops. All of her tracks are released through Illuminate Creative Group, a label she created herself. Be prepared to be won over right now, as Grace released her breathtaking, dreamy new single “High” today.

A gentle, calming guitar brings us into “High.” It’s quiet and serene, allowing Grace to vocally shine. The pop elements come in later and are just enough to give the track some extra texture without overpowering the tranquility of the guitar. Despite the title, Grace sings “I’ve never been high,” but she likens both the initial lure and the harmful effects of drugs to a particular person trying to draw her in. The vocal runs she makes on the chorus are superb, and her delivery throughout is strong. “High” might not be what you expect, but it’s a spectacular showcase of Grace’s writing and talent.

“High” is out now. The track is taken from Caroline Grace’s upcoming EP Afraid of the Dark, set for release on May 24.
