New Jersey native Phoebe Ryan has released her newest single, “Forgetting All About You”, and this time she’s partnered with rising star rapper blackbear. The track shows Phoebe getting over (or at least attempting to get over) a breakup- something that doesn’t always make sense and isn’t always easy, but that she knows she can overcome: “I’m losing it, so what? I’m fine/ It’s probably, probably alright.”
On “Forgetting All About You”, Phoebe Ryan’s voice is light and airy, but her “zero fucks” attitude gives it a different feel than your typical pop song. She admits that it’s “super fun forgetting all about you”, and we’re honestly on board with the YouTube commenter who said, “the beat is just too much to handle.”
Tove Lo fans may recognize Phoebe from seeing her as support on the Lady Wood Tour earlier this year. Phoebe has also made a name for herself through her Chainsmokers collaboration, “All We Know”, as well as writing for everyone from Bea Miller to Britney Spears.
“Forgetting All About You” comes as the followup to “Dark Side”, an electro-pop track released earlier this year as the third single from Phoebe Ryan’s forthcoming debut album. The album follows a 2015 EP, Mine, though no details have been released yet.
Phoebe Ryan will be performing at the Billboard Hot 100 Festival in Wantagh, N.Y. on August 19; stay tuned to her website for all updates!
