Singer-songwriter, actor, and producer Asher Monroe released his debut solo album, Inner Warrior, just last month. Displaying a very personal side of himself as an artist, Inner Warrior allowed Monroe to be honest and sincere with his emotions while being fully his own – his vocals, his production, and his vision.
From the album comes lead single “Hurricane,” which Monroe refers to as his inner love anthem. “It’s a true story of the rollercoaster of my life, how love is at the center of gravity and how it pulls me back to sanity. We all ask questions in life and doubt certain things but we eventually get on the right track with hard work and dedication,” he shares. “This song speaks to my soul lyrically and sonically. I am very proud to have it as a lead single on the album.” The track is sexy and soulful, featuring a hypnotic beat and smooth vocals that is sure to have fans swooning.

Monroe shared with us the writing process behind Inner Warrior, stating:
“I definitely had way more creative control with this album than any other project I have worked on this far. It’s probably why it’s taken a little longer as well. I wanted to have enough songs built up in my library to put together a full cohesive piece. When I felt inspired, I would go to the studio. I got to work with some incredibly talented individuals – producers, writers, engineers, and musicians. At the end of the day, I was involved in every little process, which I believe most artists today should do. It’s very rewarding to put the effort in and see amazing results. You can sit back and listen and be proud of and enjoy your work. At the end of the day, I write songs for the ones I love and for my fans.”
Known as the former lead singer of pop R&B boy band, V Factory, Monroe’s musical career consists of impressive highlights such as writing and recording with Grammy Award-winning, multi-platinum recording artists Chris Brown and OneRepublic frontman Ryan Tedder, being named one of MTV’s Top Ten Artists, and gracing the cover of Billboard Magazine. On the acting side, Monroe has starred in Parenthood on NBC and has performed in national Broadway tours of Beauty and The Beast, The Sound of Music, Oliver!, and The Prince and the Pauper.
