Pop/rock trio Waterparks have finally reveled the release date for their upcoming fifth full-length studio album, INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY. The album will be released on April 14h via Fueled by Ramen Records. Pre-orders can be found here.
To celebrate the release date announcement, Waterparks have unveiled another new single, “REAL SUPER DARK.” It is the fourth single released from the album, following the previously released “FUCK ABOUT IT feat. blackbear,” “SELF-SABOTAGE,” and “FUNERAL GREY.”
“REAL SUPER DARK” is a fiery and experimental song that leans into the heavier side of Waterparks, while simultaneously infusing bits of pop, rock, and pop into their signature genre-bending sound.
Awsten Knight explains about the forthcoming record, “I think that it does everything that Waterparks does best, and it expands. There are pieces that feel like they could have been on any other albums, but then there’s elements of it that full-on expand past anywhere we’ve been before. I think there’s a perfect balance between the poetry that you’d find on [2018 album] ‘Entertainment’ versus the blunt crazy shit that you’d find on ‘FANDOM.’ It’s a perfect melding of all of it.”
