Last month was cause for great celebration. British pop artist Shura made her return after 2016’s debut album Nothing’s Real with new single “BKLYNLDN.” The track contained all the great musical vibes and thoughtfully constructed lyrics fans have come to love from her. Today there’s a new take on the track, as Shura has teamed up with remixer i_vu to drop the “BKLYNLDN (i_vu London Dub)” version of the song.
The magic of “BKLYNLDN (London Dub)” comes from i_vu’s ability to make the track feel grounded and ethereal at the same time. From the jump the percussion loop is at the forefront, the rattling of the drums sounding incredibly authentic. Shura’s lovestruck lyrics work brilliantly with the rest of i_vu’s work, which incorporates many small electronic whirs and buzzes over an echoing synth. It’s a great take on “BKLYNLDN” that amplifies the feeling of the original.
