Australian alt-pop trio Chase Atlantic is kicking off what should be another great year with a new video for their latest single, “Like A Rockstar.” Directed by lead guitarist, Clinton Cave, and their frequent collaborator, Ryan Watanabe, the video chronicles the band’s antics on the road as they tour worldwide, and builds off of the their excitement of having sold out a gig at New York City’s Gramercy Theatre in November.
Compromised of brothers Clinton and Mitchel Cave, and their longtime friend, Christian Anthony, the LA-based collective has been taking the airwaves by storm lately, crossing over 80 million combined streams on Spotify and Apple Music, and amassing over 1 mil. monthly listeners. Their alt-pop that blends equal parts rock and R&B (both with a heavy hand) “blurs the lines between a nocturnal aesthetic and primal bliss”. Like all others, this new single is upbeat, fun, and catchy. It almost drags you into their world for a minute, capturing the true rockstar tour life that everyone wishes for.
While the video primarily shows them goofing off, its no surprise that they’re experts at making sure no time is wasted. Fans will not have to go more than three weeks without new Chase Atlantic content, as their forthcoming EP, ‘DON’T TRY THIS’, is due out before the end of the month. The group is also currently working on their sophomore album, expected to arrive later this year. It will serve as a follow up to their successful self-titled debut, Chase Atlantic (2017), and two EPs Dalliance (2014) and Nostalgia (2015).
Other than this, however, not much else is known on Chase Atlantic’s moves for the year. Having just spent the better part of 2018 on a worldwide tour, in addition to making appearances at quite a festivals this past summer (Warped, Reading/Leeds, Lollapalooza, among others), it is unlikely that they’ll be touring again anytime soon. But, we’ve been surprised before, and taking into consideration all the content they’re putting out in such a short span of time, a summer/fall tour for the impending release doesn’t sound so far-fetched. Fingers crossed!
