New York City duo paris_monster is one of the more interesting groups in music. They employ a successful mix of funk, soul, synthesized garage, blending old-school grit with modern detail.
This is no more evident than on their new song, “Hot Canyon Air,” which can you can find at the top of the post.
“The drums and bass-line were written together. They fit within one another. The riff has a certain tension, because I wanted the verse to release into the chorus. This propels the song forward and helps it build,” explains Josh Dion of paris_monster. “A working relationship obviously requires dedication, and some of that dedication is to the task of clearing the path of the obstructions our partners put down behind them and before us, and making our way to them whether they like it or not,” adds on Geoff Karly, other half of the duo explaining “Hot Canyon Air.”
The song comes off their new album, Lamplight, which will be released in early-2019. However, it can currently be picked up at any of their live shows. You can find all of their upcoming tour dates below.
