After months of speculation leading up to the festival, Riot Fest has finally announced some additions to their lineup.
Riot Fest has been largely quiet since the first wave announcement back in May, which included headliners blink-182, Beck, and a mystery headliner that was represented by a few question marks on the event flyer. Today, after months of silence in which during previous years the festival used to announce the second wave lineup, after shows, single-day ticket sales, and the daily lineup, the festival broke their silence.
Riot Fest, according to their statement, were set to announce the second wave lineup and single-ticket sales yesterday, however they received a call from blink-182 that they would be dropping off the festival and canceling their fall tour due to health concerns. According to Riot Fest, they were then able to get Weezer, Taking Back Sunday, and Run the Jewels to hop on to fill the gap created by blink-182 unfortunately having to cancel their appearance.
It appears as if Weezer will be directly filling in for blink-182 as the headliner for their respective night, while Taking Back Sunday and Run the Jewels are likely to fill out the schedule at other times over the weekend. As for the third mystery headliner? Riot Fest seems to be teasing that announcement for tomorrow, as they have stated they will begin rolling out more details tomorrow at 10am central time.

Please know that we have been working tirelessly behind the scenes – as always – to program the best possible festival experience for our fans.
With that, we have some good news… and some bad news.
The bad news is that Blink-182 has been forced to cancel its performance at Riot Fest 2018. The good news is that three of our favorite artists have agreed to step up and fill in: Weezer, Run the Jewels, and Taking Back Sunday.

Yesterday afternoon, while we preparing to announce a long-awaited special headliner – alongside single-day lineups and tickets – we received a call from Blink-182’s camp letting us know that due to health-related issues with Travis, they unfortunately and sorrowfully had to cancel their entire September tour. Moreover, Riot and Blink-182 want all of you to know that they are rescheduled as one our headliners next year for Riot Fest’s 15th anniversary. All of us here at Riot Fest wish Travis the best of health and nothing short of a speedy recovery.
As soon as we found out the news, we feverishly started to call upon some of our friends to fill the spot left by Blink-182. Within a matter of hours, Weezer, Run the Jewels and Talking Back Sunday stepped up, and will now be performing at Riot Fest 2018.
