If you’re a long time reader of Substream, you’ve heard Nashville-based pop singer Brigetta Truitt before. For those of you not in the know, Brigetta rose to prominence making excellent pop music alongside her brother Brett as pop duo Truitt, whom we’ve featured on the site. Brigetta–going by just her first name–is now launching a solo career. That launch happened this morning, with the release of her first ever solo single, called “Tic Tac Toe” (via The 405).

Built on a deep, bouncy bass line and a mesmerizing clapping percussion, “Tic Tac Toe” immediately grabs the listener. Brigetta has always had a voice perfect for pop music, and the new single brings out the best in her vocal talents. Detailing a flirtatious back and forth mirroring the titular game, Brigetta’s singing delicately hovers over the instrumental. Make no mistake though, she can put power into her vocals when necessary, and there’s an impressive range there as well. “Tic Tac Toe” is playful and entrancing, and it’s a perfect pop song for a Friday night out and about.

You can listen to “Tic Tac Toe” after the jump. It’s hard to think of a better start for Brigetta’s solo career, and we’re excited to see what other musical genius she has up her sleeve going forward.
