It is crazy to believe that PWR BTTM are still considered a new band to the vast majority of alternative music fans. I write this not because the band has a decade of history behind them, but because I find it increasingly difficult to picture the underground landscape before their arrival on the scene. I’m sure it was just disheveled white guys complaining about relationships and growing up, but it is admittedly an increasingly blurred memory.
PWR BTTM are on top of the world right now. With a new record due out in just over two months, tour plans, and more press attention than literally any of their genre peers, the duo behind indie-punk’s latest sensation have quickly ascended to a place in the world of music that is entirely their own (and likely covered in glitter).
The latest single off the duo’s upcoming album, “Answer My Text,” revolves around an instance of unrequited messaging that anyone who has struggled to forge or maintain relationships in the digital age will recognize. It is both catchy and brutally honest, with a melody that demands you move your body. Check it out:

“Answer My Text” is the second video from PWR BTTM to be released this year. The other, for the lead single “Big Beautiful Day,” debuted on Valentine’s Day.
As I mentioned above, PWR BTTM have a new album on the way. Pageant, the duo’s first release on Polyvinyl Records, will arrive in stores and online May 12. Pre-orders are available now.
The release tour for Pageant will begin on May 27 in Canada and take PWR BTTM all over North America. Dates and venue are as follows:
