Have you ever watched a season of a show, reached the end, and realized that the next season isn’t coming for another year or two? For example, Apple TV+’s “Severance” premiered in February 2022, and the second season will be released almost three years later on January 17th. The fourth Stranger Things” season premiered in the summer of 2022 and is still awaiting a release date three years later.

A couple of factors are going into why there is such a long lag time: the WGA and  SAG-AFTRA strike of 2023 and an overall expansion of budgets and complications leading to productions taking longer than usual. It’s easier than ever to forget what happened season-to-season or film-to-film.

This is why we are creating Rewind Rewatch, an ongoing series that recaps shows and films in various short—and long-form formats.

Maybe you don’t remember all the projects you need to catch up with before you see “Captain America: Brave New World.” Perhaps you don’t remember every important point about “Yellowjackets” before season three. We’ll have you covered there.

As the months pass, we’ll look to slowly expand into audio and video formats and tinker with theory/spoiler-related topics. People are scattered among various social media platforms and how they get information. Rewind Rewatch is one of the many ways we want to cultivate community, highlight informative entertainment and culture-based journalism, and give those who check in on this website something to look forward to.

We’re excited to give this a shot and hope you’ll join us on this “look back” while anticipating what’s ahead.
