Adding a bit of pop-punk fury to a timeless alternative single, The View From Here leave their mark on “This Is Not An Exit” from Saves The Day.

Saves The Day is one of very few bands that all musicians can agree are as good as others claim. After helping to usher in a wave of cathartic pop-punk at the turn of the millennium, STD has gone on to become one of the most respected alternative groups of our time. Each record is a masterpiece, depending on who you ask, and every song plays like the soundtrack to a memory that we’ve collectively experienced. They are the example countless others follow, including the musicians involved in a new compilation hitting streaming services this Friday, January 15.

True State Entertainment presents The Influencers: Forever Who We Are is a new compilation featuring rising acts covering several iconic Saves The Day tracks. The tribute includes the recently released cover of “As Your Ghost Takes Flight” by Suntitle, along with covers from Seconds To Say, The Great Heights Band, and more. All proceeds from this tribute will go directly to HeartSupport, a charity based on mental health support.

Today, Substream is sharing a cover of “This Is Not An Exit” by The View From Here, one of our favorite young groups. The band’s take adds a punk edge to the slow-burn song, which helps emphasize the urgency of the message. Check it out:

Speaking about the cover, The View From Here told us:

“Saves The Day has always been linked to good times and better people. Whether seeing them live or just hearing the “You Vandal” intro riff, I’m instantly uplifted. Case in point, if you like Saves The Day, we’re gonna be friends.”

The Influencers: Forever Who We Are is available this Friday. Don’t miss it.
