Who had “Vin Diesel releasing music” on their 2020 bingo card? Anybody? If you did, what the hell. If you didn’t, join us in also saying “what the hell?” But, before you jump to conclusions, hear us out: it’s actually not bad.

Diesel teamed up with Norwegian DJ Kygo and his label Palm Tree Records to release the feel-good song, “Feel Like I Do,” which dropped today via Spotify and Apple Music, after being previewed on The Kelly Clarkson Show.

This isn’t necessarily the first time Diesel has shown off his deep, bass voice, most notably in 2015 when he sang “See You Again” in tribute to Paul Walker, and again in 2017 when he joined Kygo and Selena Gomez on “It Ain’t Me.”

I have gravitated towards more emotional songs in the past,” Diesel explained to USA Today. “But everyone knows I love all music. Making music was something I initially did for my family.

The track was written and produced by Palm Tree Records’ Petey Martin, and according to Diesel, the reason this was the first song released — apparently confirming there’s more to come — was due to his father. “I remember my father listening to this song on the beach earlier this year. He really loved it and he said it should be the first song,” Diesel says says.

We’re not sure when or if new music will be coming, but we do know that Fast & Furious 9 is set to be released in April 2021 at least.
