Hundredth have announced that their new album, Somewhere Nowhere, will be released on October 9th.

For Hundredth, the album is another shift in sound for the ever-evolving South Carolina-based group. In 2017, Hundredth shifted from their hardcore roots into a more shoegaze-type sound on RARE, and then with their 2019 singles looked more towards a effervescent dream-pop sound.

Now, Somewhere Nowhere finds Hundredth pushing that sound further than ever before as it lives in the vibrant synth-pop area. For over a decade, they have pushed themselves out of their songwriting comfort zones. They wanted to take their biggest leap yet with Somewhere Nowhere, and have yet again completely redefined their band.”It’s always been about where we are right now—what we want to hear, what’s inspiring in the moment,” vocalist Chadwick Johnson explains. “We’re always growing and changing as people, so it makes sense that the music does too.”

There’s a sense of uncertainty and darkness amidst the technicolor sounds as Johnson tries to unpack the challenges that face his generation, and while the album doesn’t offer any easy answers, Hundredth have shown they’re willing to face change. “If we’re going to do something, we’re going to go all in,” Johnson says. “Each album represents where we are, and I don’t plan on stopping.”

To celebrate the news, Hundredth have unveiled the first single, “Bottle It Up,” which you can find below. Somewhere Nowhere is currently available for pre-order here.
