City and Colour have announced that their forthcoming album A Pill For Loneliness will be released on October 4. Alongside the announcement, City and Colour also revealed the opening track to the album, “Living In Lightning.”

A Pill For Loneliness is the sixth studio album from City and Colour. Produced by three-time Grammy-winning Jacquire King and mastered by the first female mastering engineer to win a Grammy for best engineered album Emily Lazar, the new album depicts a colorful landscape  through lush guitars and ethereal orchestration.

“I wrote a lot of dark songs and wrapped them in the most beautiful sounds we could find,” Green explains. “There are personal connotations, but they’re also relatable. I’m thankful for the opportunity to create.”

City and Colour will head on a North American tour later this fall with select dates across the US. Full tour dates can be found below.
