We haven’t seen much of them in the past few years, but famed folk band Of Monsters and Men (re: Little Talks) are finally back with a new song, “While Roses”. The second single off their forthcoming album, “Wild Roses” is an upbeat, pop number that showcases co-vocalist Nanna Hilmarsdóttir’s voice rather well. Along with “Alligator”, the first single off the album, the set of songs mark the band’s first new music since 2015’s Beneath The Skin. Listen below.
“The song shows an introverted side to the album and is influenced by a bit of dance music and Joseph Campbell’s ‘The power of myth and what it is like to lean into your sadness,’” co-vocalist Nanna Hilmarsdóttir says.
The song is the second single off of Of Monsters and Men’s forthcoming third album Fever Dream, due out July 26 via Republic Records. The band has also announced a tour to go along with the album, dates for which are below. Tickets are here, and every ticket purchase comes with a free download of Fever Dream.
