After a few weeks worth of teasing and loads of conspiracy theories from fans, Taylor Swift has finally returned with our first taste of new music from the singer since her 2017 album, Reputation.

As if her return wasn’t exciting enough, she’s brought with it a track featuring Panic! At The Disco‘s Brendon Urie.

Before we go into the pastel wonderland of Swift’s brand new era, it’s important to take it back to a few weeks ago when she first began teasing her latest track.

Between a mysterious countdown timer, which was set to end at midnight on April 26, to her vibrant Instagram posts, speculation was at an all-time high for what Swift could possibly be up to.

Then, everything came to a head when Swift went to the 2019 NFL Draft, where she had an interview with Robin Roberts of ABC. And, during that interview, Swift finally revealed the news: she’d be releasing a new song called “ME!” with Brendon Urie.

Additionally, she also gave a bit of an insight into what the song was about later in the interview:

“‘ME!’ is a song about embracing your individuality and really celebrating it, and owning it,” Swift shared. “I think that with a pop song, we have the ability to get a melody stuck in people’s heads, and I just want it to be one that makes them feel better about themselves, not worse.”

With the song officially confirmed and the timer ticking away, fans were understandably anxious about the new single. Luckily for them, the wait finally came to an end and the video, which was co-directed by Swift herself (with Dave Meyers), was released into the world.

So, without further ado, check out Taylor Swift’s colorful new music video for her song “ME!” below!
