This February, “Electronic Rock and Roll” artist Robert DeLong hit the road for his See You In The Future Tour, where he was joined by alt-pop singer morgxn. If you haven’t seen Robert Delong before, you should know that it’s the type of performance that’s best experienced in the moment. Some electronic music sets are pre-recorded, but everything Robert DeLong does happens then and there, right in front of you.

After bringing out his custom-built laser harp, DeLong’s set at The Foundry in Philadelphia began with “Beginning of the End” from his 2018 See You In The Future EP. An early highlight was “Global Concepts”, his first single, followed a drum duet with his live drummer. Though there was a lot going on throughout songs like “First Person On Earth” – drums and drum pads, the laser harp, a synth, and even an electric guitar – everything felt calculated, rather than chaotic.
One of the songs on See You In The Future is “Favorite Color Is Blue” featuring K.Flay, which blends DeLong’s planned approach with K.Flay’s off-the-cuff lyricism. He also debuted another collaboration with K.Flay that had yet to be released, but its pulsating beat got people dancing. Shortly after that he switched tracks completely, bringing out his acoustic guitar for “Where We’re Going” as one of the closers of the show. It was an eclectic, electric, energetic performance, and one that’s not to be missed.

Keep up with Robert Delong on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and his website.
