Norwegian-born but New York-based singer Kaya Wilkins, who goes under her moniker Okay Kaya, has been pretty busy this past year. Back in 2018, the singer dropped her debut album Both, and today, she’s shared some new music!

Prior to releasing her newest track, it was announced that Okay Kaya made the decision to ink a record deal with Jagjaguwar. In order to celebrate the occasion, the singer released her first song with the label, a cover of Cher’s 1998 club anthem “Believe.”

Okay Kaya’s version of the Cher track completely flips the iconic song on its head, as she’s taken a slower, and way more haunting, approach to her version of the song.

“It’s the perfect song,” Wilkins shared when asked why she covered the track. “It’s hopeful. It’s sad. It’s a break-up anthem – and a fuck you.”
