After a much anticipated wait, S. Carey is set to release his third studio album, Hundred Acres, next month. This will be his first album since 2014’s Range of Light. While he released an EP in 2015 and appeared on Gordi‘s excellent album Reservoir last year, it’s still exciting to have a proper project from the Wisconsin native on the way. With only a few short weeks until Hundred Acres is here, Carey released new single “More I See” this morning to hold fans over.
“More I See” is a rich, stirring track, with the acoustic guitar work and simple percussion giving a cozy campfire feeling. Carey is particularly introspective here, with thoughts like “the more you know, the less you see” revealing a man who is questioning himself and the world around him in search of a better understanding of life.
You can listen to “More I See” below. Hundred Acres is set for release on February 23 through Jagjaguwar. S. Carey is also going on tour in the spring, with an album release show in his hometown of Eau Clair, Wisconsin on March 15 marking the beginning of the trek. He’ll be joined by Gordi (who also appears on the new album) for the duration of the tour. A full list of dates is also included below, and more information can be found on Carey’s website.
