Ever since the lights came up after Avengers: Infinity War last year, people have been clamoring for more information about Avengers 4, the movie tasked with finishing the story that over 10 years of Marvel Studios films have told. That demand has grown louder and louder as 2019 approaches and not a shred of official information has come out. That all changed this morning. Marvel Studios has released the trailer for what we now know is called Avengers: Endgame, and it packs a hefty emotional punch.

The trailer starts with Tony Stark adrift on a spaceship, the lone survivor of his group’s battle with Thanos. Things are not going well for him, and he leaves what is clearly supposed to serve as his last will and message to Pepper Potts. We then shift to Earth, where the remaining Avengers confirm Thanos has won, wiping half of all life from the universe. The trailer mostly focuses on Black Widow and Captain America as they talk about all the loss and suffering they’ve gone through. They have a plan, though. We don’t get to hear what that plan is, but we do see some surprising faces. Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye is back looking more somber than he ever has before, and it turns out Scott Lang somehow made it out of his predicament at the end of Ant-Man and the Wasp. Altogether it’s a subdued look at what is sure to be an emotional movie.

The end of the trailer also reveals Avengers: Endgame is coming in April of 2019. Get those tissues ready and watch the trailer up above.
