You might not think about it a lot, but physical contact is a huge part of most of our lives. We shake hands when we meet someone. We give our friends a big ole hug when we haven’t seen them for a while. We hold hands and kiss the people we’re in relationships with. There’s a thrill that comes with many of these forms of contact, and that thrill makes for excellent material for a song. Just ask Las Vegas pop singer Lisa Marie Smith. We’re premiering her new single “Get Closer To Me” this morning, and as the name implies the song is all about that contact.

The song begins by showcasing two of its strongest assets: Smith’s ethereal voice and a very captivating beat. The verses are built upon a sound that emulates the mood of Smith’s Vegas home, a sound that invites you into a night where anything could happen. It’s a moody pop verse, and the chorus kicks it into a whole higher gear. This is where Smith’s vocals shine the brightest, with a deliberate and powerful delivery that shows she’s not kidding when she says she wants the subject of the lyrics to “get closer.”

Smith explained the exhilaration the song captures, saying “‘Get Closer To Me’ grants you permission to feel… but feel physically. There’s something so liberating and addicting in an amazing first kiss. I wanted to recreate that whirlwind moment musically and emotionally with this song- it turned out to be my personal favorite on the album!”

You can stream “Get Closer To Me” below. The single is taken from Smith’s self-titled EP, which is set for release on November 16. She’ll be doing a release show on November 12 in Las Vegas at the Esports Arena Las Vegas at The Luxor.
