LIVE REVIEW: #FEST celebrates all things EDM and hiphop with performances from Marshmello, RL Grime, Lil Uzi Vert, and more

Hidden away in a small college town in Ohio, #FEST kicked off its 8th year at The Venue of Athens and its 16th year all together with college kids dancing away to EDM and hip-hop all weekend long. #FEST took place over Friday and Saturday, April 20th and 21st, with the 2-day lineup including RL Grime (Friday) and Marshmello (Saturday) headlining to a massive crowd. Other performances included GTA, Lil Uzi Vert, Rezz, Trippie Red, Two Friends and many more.

During Marshmello’s set he made a tribute to late Swedish DJ Avicii, who passed away Friday, April 20th due to suicide. The crowd held their hands up in love and support as Avicii’s name appeared across displays during Marshmellos performance. Avicii’s music rang through the venue as Marshmello held his head high to show support to his beloved friend. Lil Uzi Vert’s set mesmerized the crowd with a pretty amazing lighting design as his fans screamed out his lyrics. Uzi may only be 23 years old but he’s proved he’s a performer to that won’t be stopped.

From homemade Marshmello heads, unicorn onesies, and fishnet stockings paired with rave attire, #FEST definitely delivered to an array of attendees to celebrate their love of all things EDM and hiphop. Prime Social Group proved that even in the wet cold weather, they could heat up the night for all that was in attendance. Be sure to check out all of our photos from the weekend below!
