Alesana have been a staple in the alternative/post-hardcore scene since they came out swinging in 2006 with On Frail Wings of Vanity and Wax. Since that moment came on Tragic Hero Records, the band released music through Fearless Records and Epitaph Records, before releasing their latest album, Confessions, in 2015 via Revival Recordings.

Confessions wrapped up Alesana’s well known “Annabel Trilogy” that started in 2008 with The Emptiness, and continued in 2011 with A Place Where the Sun Is Silent. This brings us, of course, to 2018 with their newest EP, The Lost Chapters. As you might be able to infer from the title, The Lost Chapters is set to fill in some gaps between the trilogy.

As the band puts it, “The Lost Chapters fills in some blanks for fans who enjoy the small details of our concepts. There are some tunes here that introduce new possibilities as to where our stories could have gone, while others expand on some already existing points. Musically and sonically, each song feels like the era in which they were born and really makes The Lost Chapters feel like you are traveling back in time.”

As you dive into The Lost Chapters, it’s fun to go through the songs and pinpoint what stories they connect to in Alesana’s trilogy. It’s a game almost and makes the EP more enjoyable than it already is. I don’t want to spoil the game for you, but just know that the band did a great job giving the fans something worth checking out while they work towards a new full-length.

We have the exclusive stream of Alesana’s The Lost Chapters for you today, and we couldn’t be more excited for it. There’s a little bit of everything for Alesana fans in this EP: the heavy moments, the slow moments, and the combination of the two that they have mastered over the years as a band. If you like what you hear below, you can pick up your copy of the EP here before the album officially drops tomorrow!
