Ellie Goulding and Juice WRLD have released the dark collaboration, “Hate Me.” The track is a blend of hip-hop and dark pop with lyrics that deal with the toxicity that can come from relationships that end badly. One June 24th, Goulding teased the new single on Instagram with a photo of herself wearing a chain featuring the initials “EG” and “JW.”

“Hate Me” premiered on Zane Lowe’s World Record on Apple Music’s Beats 1 with an interview with Goulding. “The truth of the matter is that humans are crazy and do fucked up things to people, and that’s the truth,” says Goulding. “I realized that I can always try and wear these rose-tinted glasses when it comes to my own past relationships or my friends’ relationships, but actually when it comes down to it some things are just really messed up. Sometimes I think you need to hear that. You need to hear it…to sort of validate your own situation, and it happens a lot.”

Goulding is a two-time Grammy Winning artist whose vocals are no stranger to top 20 radio. She kicked off high anticipation for her fourth studio album with the release of “Close To Me” and most recently the nostalgia tinged single “Sixteen.”
