It’s been a good year for Post Malone. His 2016 album Stoney was the fifth most streamed album (both in the US and worldwide) on Spotify for all of 2017, and his single “rockstar” spent several weeks at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 (as of Thursday evening, the song is at Number 2); the music video has over 111 million views. The 22-year-old Syracuse, N.Y. native was originally expected to release his second album, Beerbongs and Bentleys, on December 1, however the album did not come out. On that day, he Tweeted an apology to fans, saying: “hey guys, i know a lot of you guys were expecting a project today, it won’t be dropping for a little while. I’m sorry to let you down, but i need to make sure this album is perfect for you. I’m gonna keep working my ass off and make the best fucking album ever. i love ya.”

However, Post Malone has not hit pause on new music, and on Wednesday evening he surprised fans by sharing a Latin remix of “rockstar” on Youtube, which can be heard above. The remix features reggaeton singer Nicky Jam (a longtime collaborator with Daddy Yankee, he’s released six studio albums including Fenix in 2017) and reggaeton / Latin trap artist Ozuna (though he’s only released one studio album, Odisea, in 2017, Ozuna has more than 60 singles to his name). Jam opens the song with a chorus and verse in Spanish, and after Post Malone takes the chorus, Ozuna joins in for another verse and chorus. The track will be available on all streaming services on Friday, and we wouldn’t be surprised if it’s as big of a hit as the original.
