September 27, 2013. That’s when Lorde‘s debut album Pure Heroine was released. It’s been over three long years since that day, and even her last single “Yellow Flicker Beat” came out all the way back in 2014. Now, after feverish anticipation, the wait is over. New track “Green Light” and its music video are here off of Lorde’s upcoming second album, Melodrama.

The track itself is a raucous dance number, built upon equal parts pop sensibility and a pounding piano line. Lorde’s delivery changes from biting in the verses to a euphoric shout during the big, boisterous chorus. It’s a richer, fuller sound than most of her tracks from Pure Heroine, and we’re stoked to hear more from the new album. The music video was directed by Grant Singer and follows Lorde during a night out, ranging from the club to the car and dancing on the streets.
