Celebrities have it all- or so it seems. They have careers and lifestyles we all dream of and access to the hottest parties around, and with an endless supply of all of life’s pleasures surely they’re happy. Back in October, former One Direction member Louis Tomlinson shared his first solo single without a feature, “Just Like You”, where he showed fans that he’s just the same as they are. Now, he’s back with the followup single “Miss You”, where he realizes that going out isn’t everything in life and maybe what we need most is the people we’re closest to. In Louis’s case, he’s reflecting on the girl he loved, who he finds himself missing despite having no shortage of parties and action around him. Check out the lyrics to the chorus:

“We’re dancing on tables
And I’m off my face
With all of my people
And it couldn’t get better they say
We’re singing ’til last call
And it’s all out of tune
Should be laughing, but there’s something wrong
And it hits me when the lights go on
Shit, maybe I miss you”

While “Just Like You” was straightforward pop, “Miss You” is all rock and roll. Louis’s angelic voice takes a harder tone, and the song finds his vocals surrounded by electric guitar riffs. With the electronic stylings of “Back To You” (with Bebe Rexha and Digital Farm Animals) and “Just Hold On” (with Steve Aoki), we’re certainly curious what direction he’ll take for his debut solo album.

Louis Tomlinson is expected to release his album in 2018, and we wouldn’t be surprised if he hits the road on tour. No plans have been announced but make sure you’re following Substream on Twitter, as we’ll be sure to keep you in the loop on all things Louis.
