But I just can’t keep up the pace/Gotta get outside my brain/‘cause all I gotta do is be there for you

That lyric comes at us full bore in the latter half of Super Whatevr‘s brand new song, “For You.” From the eerie and lingering guitar to Skyler McKee’s shaky and wrought vocals, the song is riddled with feelings of anxiety and paranoia. The accompanying music video is full of jittery and neurotic short bursts of motion; cutting between shakey performance shots in an empty room and externalized feelings of chaotic self-destruction. Clearly meant to be the protagonist, McKee stays relatively stationary as the rest of the band grabs the closest thing to them only to immediately destroy it. It’s both cathartic and a little unsettling, but the music video is bound to be one that you watch several times over.

The track comes from Super Whatevr’s debut album, Never Nothing, which will be released on January 19th on the megalith that is Hopeless Records. This is the follow-up to their label debut, the incredible Good Luck EP, which was released in February of this year. The artwork for Never Nothing can be found below, and the music video for “For You” can be found above.
