If 2016 was the year PWR BTTM made themselves known in a big way, then 2017 is shaping up to be the year even your parents come to love their brand. There is no other group in the world writing songs with the perspective or unabashed wit this duo provides with each new track, and they’ve now taken their infectious aesthetic one step further with a brilliant video for their latest single, “Answer My Text.”
There is nothing worse than unrequited text messaging, especially where matters of the heart are concerned. You spend minutes, hours, perhaps even days trying to think of the perfect message to let your crush know you are thinking about them only to have your well-crafted text go unreturned for no discernible reason whatsoever. Around the 1:00 mark I lost count of just how many gif-able moments exist in “Answer My Text,” but it feels safe to assume this is the kind of video that will convert anyone still on the fence about PWR BTTM into a full-blown believer. If you like anything in this video you will almost certainly love everything about the band, and if you already love the band the video is more of the stuff you demand. It has something for everyone while remaining undeniably on brand.
PWR BTTM has even more new music and visuals on the horizon. The duo will release their next record, Pageant, on May 12.
