If you’re not familiar with Ana Lily Amirpour’s debut film, A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night, you should acquaint yourself with it immediately. The black-and-white horror film is incredible and like nothing else you’ve ever seen. For those of you who have seen it, you know how exciting it is that Amirpour’s next project has a trailer. Needless to say, we are all in on The Bad Batch already.
The film follows Arlen (Suki Waterhouse) a girl cast out into the desert who finds a community of exiles like her before getting her arm and leg amputated. This community contains both squalor and extravagance and is run by The Dream, a sleazy mayor of sorts played to perfection in the trailer by a mustachioed Keanu Reeves. Also in this community is Miami Man (Jason Momoa), who knows his way around art supplies and butcher knives with equal effectiveness. Watch them all in action now:
With this collection of director, actors, and setting, The Bad Batch is sure to be a unique and wild ride. We’ll know for certain once the film goes on the festival circuit in September.
