It took far longer than anyone thought, but late last year Bad Santa 2 finally made its way to theaters. The film was a minor hit at the box office, but we feel a lot of that is due to the glut of major films that were being released at the same time. It is hard for any film to contend with potential Oscar winners, especially when the film in question is the most profane wide release of 2016.
Fueled by cheap whiskey, greed and hatred, Willie (Billy Bob Thornton) teams up once again with his angry little sidekick, Marcus (Tony Cox), to knock off a Chicago charity on Christmas Eve. It’s the kind of pitch black comedic device that requires a certain level of cynicism from the viewer, but if you possess it then laughs come fast and often.
