It’s been 20 years since the world was introduced to Danish band Mew, with their first album, A Triumph For Man, turning two decades old in April. It’s no coincidence that the band is releasing their seventh album, Visuals, on April 28 this year. Today the band gave us a taste of their new work with the track “Carry Me To Safety.”
The song has all the trademarks of Mew, with an almost otherworldly keyboard and dramatic guitars carrying Jonas Bjerre’s voice to great heights. The middle of the song truly soars, and the crescendo of musical buildup has some excellent mixing to make sure each part gets its proper moment in the sun. Give the track a listen below:
Visuals is currently available for pre-order. Grab a physical copy through the band’s store or digitally on iTunes.
