Originally hailing from Alabama, Them Dirty Roses — consisting of brothers James Ford (Lead Vocals/Guitarist) and Frank Ford (Drums) and best friends Ben Crain (Bass Guitarist) and Andrew Davis (Lead Guitarist) — grew up together and eventually decided to make some noise together.
Ultimately, Them Dirty Roses packed up their RV with vintage gear and moved to Nashville to live together and built up a loyal legion of fans and toured relentlessly around the country. The end result is a chemistry akin to some of the most well-known, legendary Southern rock bands that inspired the band to be who they are today.
Their sound is powerful with fiery riffs, soaring guitar solos, and being led by lead vocalist Ford to offer a sense of authenticity and sincerity. This is no more evident than with their latest single, “Birmingham Steel,” which was unveiled just last month.
“Birmingham Steel” was co-written by all four band members of Them Dirty Roses and collaborators Phillip White and James LeBlanc, and was recorded at the iconic FAME studios. Inspired by the band’s home state of Alabama, the song highlights Alabama’s steel industry as a metaphor for a solid, sturdy relationship.
Today, Substream is thrilled to be teaming up with the band to exclusively premiere the music video for “Birmingham Steel.” The video cuts between a performance from the band and steel industry workers in their home-state, bringing everything full-circle and the song’s meaning and underlying message to life.
“We are very happy with how the ‘Birmingham Steel’ music video turned out,” drummer Frank Ford tells Substream. “The video captures the soul of the song, and gives fans a glimpse of our Alabama roots.”
