New Kids on the Block announce first new album in 11 years ‘Still Kids’ + share new single

New Kids On the Block have just announced that they will be releasing their new album, Still Kids, on May 17th via BMG. Pre-orders can be found here.

The album announcement comes alongside the release of their new lead single “Kids,” available now on all platforms. The track was written and produced by David Stewart, (BTS, Jonas Brothers, Jack Harlow, Shania Twain and more) and Luke Batt (Katie Melua).

The “Kids” music video was directed by Marissa Velez and premieres on YouTube at 1:30pm ET today here. The music video will also make its broadcast premiere on MTV Live, MTVU and MTV Biggest Pop later today.

New Kids On The Block will make the world premiere performance of “Kids” on The Kelly Clarkson Show, this Friday, March 8th, as a part of the show’s NKOTB episode takeover.

On the all new album, members Jonathan Knight, Jordan Knight, Joey McIntyre, Donnie Wahlberg and Danny Wood channel the New Kids’ beginnings, even as it pushes them into new territory as songwriters and as a band. The album features 14 new tracks including the lead single, “Kids,” and is full of pop anthems, dance tracks, love songs, and grooves that will become fast favorites for their fans.

“It’s the most mature album we’ve ever made,” says Wahlberg, who co-wrote seven of the tracks on Still Kids with longtime collaborator Lars Halvor Jensen and his production company DEEKAY Music. “Yet it’s the most fun and most comfortable album we’ve ever made.” Wahlberg is also credited as creative director on the album.

McIntyre — who co-wrote another six tracks with songwriter and producer Sean Thomas — echoes the sentiment: “It says a lot about any band to make a record that has energy and passion and lightness and fun and depth – after almost 40 years together? It’s crazy.”

“This album, more than any other, is bringing the New Kids and the fans full circle,” Wahlberg concludes. “It’s about hope and possibilities and being ourselves.”

New Kids On The Block will celebrate the new album and classic hits with fans across the country on their upcoming “Magic Summer 2024 Tour,” kicking off on June 14th, with special guests Paula Abdul and DJ Jazzy Jeff.
