Fast-rising DMV recording artist LB199X addresses his demons on his way to the top of the mainstream landscape on the positive new visual “Higher.” A first impression for most — with Young2Much on the beat — the new artist showcases his undeniable star power with clever wordplay, catchy hook and signature fashion sense. Outside the words and fashion, the rising star shines brightest bringing his most vulnerable thoughts to the forefront to prove his unstoppable ambition to become music’s next big star.

“At my lowest, I had to find a way to see my light,” says LB199X on the song’s significance. “Losing my parents was the hardest thing I had to go through. Being strong and steadfast made me realize I have to raise the bar higher to live my truth.”

Featuring Ayaana Nash, the Lola North-directed visual introduces us to LB199x community. Affected by survivor’s remorse, surrounded by family and friends, he remembers the fallen while cleaning a restaurant.

The latest single follows LB199x’s 2021 singles “Eulogy” and “Something More,” and prepares fans for a forthcoming album that follows his 2018 effort Black Matter. “Higher” is available everywhere via Guin Records. For any newfound fan, now is the perfect time to become a fan of D.C. native.
