They’re back to deal with the heartbreak on the day of lovers. Indie Pop group, The Millennial Club, releases “complicated/overrated”, the band’s first single of 2021, continuing the band’s five-year-long tradition of releasing new material for Valentine’s Day. The new song is a fun-loving, energetic pop tune with fast-paced rap-style vocals and a silky backbeat. At its core, however, the true nature of the track is the exploration of nurturing the growth of a budding relationship.

A preview to the new album anticipated for an early 2021 release, it’s arguably the group’s best work yet, collectively. The recurring themes of honesty, confessing your true feelings, and wearing your heart on your sleeve that appear in The Millennial Club’s music is no coincidence — the only way to stay true to your purpose is to release back into the universe what’s happening in yours.

“When it comes down to it, I think that as artists, we all want to impact the world in some way, however big or small; the real reason we do what we do is because we can’t help but feel like we have to,” says group member Andres Owens. “We have to create, express, mold, shape, shift, contort, and most importantly, release the emotions and ideas within us. ‘complicated/overrated’ showcases a new side to our musicality while remaining consistent and cohesive to what we’ve come to define as ‘our sound’ as The Millennial Club.”

The infectious song is available now on Soundcloud via own imprint. For more on The Millennial Club, follow them daily on Instagram. Stream it below.
