Last month, Bright Eyes released their first new song in over 9 years, “Persona Non Grata.” It was the first taste of new music from their highly anticipated upcoming album, following their reunion that was announced back in February.
Today, Bright Eyes have released the second single from that upcoming album, “Forced Convalescence.” Ultimately, the band had a much different plan upon signing to veritable indie label Dead Oceans, with a slew of sold out live shows planned — but unfortunately, that has been put on hold.
Luckily, the new music keeps coming. “Forced Convalescence” shows us how masterful Conor Oberst can still be, as he picks apart the human condition and struggles to reconcile the past.
