Bebe Rexha drops “You Can’t Stop The Girl” from ‘Maleficent: Mistress of Evil’

Bebe Rexha stop the girl

Bebe Rexha is having a great time since turning 30. She shared new track “Not 20 Anymore” on her birthday in late August and didn’t wait long to share even more new music. Today she dropped a new song called “You Can’t Stop The Girl.” The track is from the soundtrack of the upcoming Disney sequel Maleficent: Mistress of Evil.

As you can imagine from the name of the track and the movie it’s attached to, “You Can’t Stop The Girl” is a stirring inspirational ballad. Rexha belts it out over a continually growing piano-centered instrumental. The lyrics focus on pushing back on oppression and standing up to voice your truth and your beliefs, a message that not only fits in with the mythos of the Maleficent films, but also resonates with the realities of the real world.

You can listen to “You Can’t Stop The Girl” below, along with the trailer for Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, which arrives on October 18. Rexha is still on tour with Jonas Brothers, with a list of those remaining dates available here.
