Gypsy metal is a thing. If you don’t believe me, look no further than unsigned New York City trio Vajra.

The band’s newest single and music video, “The Mirror,” combines elements of metal and hard rock with hints of industrial metal as well. The visuals, which were directed and edited by Idit Nissenbaum, mostly feature the band performing the track in warm hues, but there are also accompanying clips dispersed throughout. You can check it out below for the full experience.

Speaking to Loudwire, where the video originally premiered, vocalist Annamaria Pinna says, “Like we did with our previous video for our single ‘3.14,’ we also did this video on a $0 budget, so we had to be creative in our scene choices, shots, location, edits, costumes and storylines. We collaborated with a dear friend of ours who shared our vision of presenting a visual exploration of the levels of consciousness.” Pinna adds, “’The Mirror’ is a vehicle from which we can see where we are, and perhaps work on things that may be holding us back from going deeper.”

Having recently completed an extensive 29-date co-headlining tour throughout the United States, the band will be mostly sticking closer to home for the summer as they prepare to work on their new album.
