Melbourne, Australia’s heavy hitting punk band Press Club is frenetic and raw — four Brunswick friends coming together. Their underlying roots were in a city that was crumbling and developing on a mass scale all at the same time. That frenetic and raw sound is a solid and impressive musical embodiment of an entire generation that’s experiencing impermanence in every way.

Press Club is gearing up to release their new album, Wasted Energy, next Friday, August 16th. It serves as the follow-up to their incredibly successful debut album, Late Teens. The new record shows Press Club at their best and flexing all of their muscles: the fuzz-addled, kicked-in speaker bass of Iain MacRae, the thick guitar tones of Greg Rietwyk, the ferocious drumming of Frank Lees, and an impressively emotional performance from Natalie Foster. You can pre-order Wasted Energy here.

Today, Substream is excited to team up with Press Club to debut their new single, “New Year’s Eve” and it’s accompanying video showing the recording process. Check it out below.

Press Club is set to head out on their biggest headlining tour of the U.K. to date, including stops at Reading & Leeds Festivals. All of this continues to build on an overwhelmingly success tour earlier this year, in which they played sold out shows in London, Zurich, Edinburgh, and more.

Check out the full list of their upcoming U.K. tour dates below, as well as the artwork and track-listing for Wasted Energy.
