Named after her Golden Labrador, “Charlie” is a wholesome reflection on unconditional love. Accompanying the sweet track, Mallrat has also released the official music video. Filtered lenses and solar flares capture the nostalgia of growing up in a small town.
The Brisbane, Australia born also announced her forthcoming EP, Driving Music, due out September 6. A departure from the sleek pop found on her 2018 EP In The Sky, Driving Music is pop grounded in realism. Through lyrics on tracks like “When I Get My Braces Off,” Mallrat unpacks relatable human experiences in tandem with pop minded melodies.
