Huntington Beach’s alt favorites Dirty Heads have released a glimpse of their newly-announced forthcoming album, ‘Super Moon’. “Lift Me Up” is a summery, brassy guitar-lead single that reminds us of summer, and the video, shot at a weed grow-op in Los Angeles, is a funny, fitting visual. Based on a cookie-cutter sleepy town in the 70’s, the highlight of the video comes when the seemingly innocent milkman delivers psychedelic drugs to lift everyone’s spirits, literally. Watch below.
“”Lift Me Up” is a classic Dirty Heads, a weed song,” says vocalist Jared Watson. “We tapped into our own lives – we used to be drug dealers, so this is our version of Curtis Mayfield’s ‘Pusherman,’ the theme song for some Shaft-style weed-seller.”
The band is currently five dates in on their 32-date summer co-headlining U.S. tour with 311, which sees them trekking across the country and meeting up with The Interrupters, Dreamers and Bikini Trill for a few scattered dates. The band will be playing songs from the new album, as well as a number of fan-favorites from their back-catalog.
