Hailing from Columbus, Ohio, No Dice have been masterfully mixing pop-punk and alternative since their formation in 2013. Their debut EP, The Words You Never Said, came in 2015, and showed the band using their roots in Columbus to their advantage. Tracks like “270” and “Thanks Jake” grew their local following, and quickly established them as a must-see act.

Not content to stay the same, though, No Dice released their standalone single “Monochrome” in 2017, and found them toying with a newer, more slow sound. This was continued with their sophomore EP, Change. It’s the perfect title for the release, and while No Dice is not here to be ashamed or abandon where they came from, singles like “Little Kings” and the title-track show they can mature far beyond pop-punk, and avoid being pigeon-holed all the same.

Now, Substream is excited to premiere their new single, “Limbo.” It’s the next step of their evolution as a band, showcasing a slower sound, lead by dreamy guitar’s and soothing vocals.

“At its core, ‘Limbo’ is internal dialogue of an identity crisis.  Not being fully sure of what you believe so you live somewhere in the middle. Similar to that theme, it’s not a negative or positive outlook on life or purpose, it’s simply reflective. It’s asking a question even if you’re hesitant of the answer,” explains vocalist/guitarist Travis Mollohan. “Musically, it’s a new approach for us. We’ve been writing together for almost 6 years now, so it’s easy to get stale or repetitive. We’re trying to push our boundaries musically and evolve. I think this song is a good stepping stone towards where we want to be.”
