This is a comeback we can get behind. New Politics have been quite in recent months, with nary a peep of new music since 2017’s Lost In Translation. 2019 is the band’s tenth year of existence, so it makes sense we’d be getting new music eventually. That new music has come today, as the trio has shared plucky new single “Comeback Kid.”

“Comeback Kid” is as inspirational as it sounds. David Boyd wastes no time before encouraging listeners to get up and pursue their dreams. The keys here serve as a gentle nudge forward for those who need it, while the lyrics do acknowledge that life can indeed be frustrating sometimes. The chorus brings out the full positive energy, as Louis Vecchio hammers away on the drums and Søren Hansen fills out the rest of the instrumental with the bright, happy vibes that the lyrics call for. “Comeback Kid” is unrelentingly positive, which is just what we need after a long, tough work week. The track seems tailor-made to make listeners smile and pump them up for whatever task lies ahead.

New Politics have a few tour dates this summer to celebrate their anniversary. You can find tickets on their website, and check out both the dates and “Comeback Kid” below.
