Following a brief run at SXSW and the release of her single “East Side Too,” it’s a fair assumption to say that Anna Shoemaker is having a pretty busy year.

To add to her ever-growing list of things to do, the singer dropped her latest single, “Home,” earlier today. The track is an R&B infused indie-pop ballad that hits a little close to home…literally.

Of the new song, Shoemaker shared:

“The idea behind the song isn’t necessarily a physical place, but a person. It’s about being all over the place, feeling lost trying to get a hold of this someone who feels like your home. The song is about more than just a drunk dial. It’s not as much about wanting this person as it is about needing them.”

The track was written with Tyler Cordy and Daniel Edinberg, and it follows the release of “East Side Too” and her debut EP East Side. Luckily for us, it appears this latest single isn’t the last taste of new music we’ll be getting from the singer.

According to a press release, Shoemaker recently finished working on her sophomore EP!

Until we get more news on her forthcoming release (and any upcoming tour dates), we’ll be sure to play “Home” a few more times.
