Since she first announced her debut album Good At Falling in November, The Japanese House‘s (Amber Bain) upcoming release has been high on our list of most anticipated titles. That anticipation has only increased with every single from the project Bain has released. That holds true this week as well, as she shared the album’s third single “Maybe You’re The Reason.”

Bain’s latest single is anchored by the plucking of a guitar, but features some of the most elaborate production we’ve heard from her yet. Several varieties of distortions warp her voice in interesting ways throughout the track, and the billowing synths spiral and bend in every way imaginable. As always, Bain incorporates a few pleasant surprises into the music, in this case an unexpectedly chunky riff that provides some satisfying grit and heft to the end of the track. Lyrically, the title refers to a particular person that Bain always thinks about when her mind starts to wander.

You can listen to “Maybe You’re The Reason” below. Good At Falling is set for release on March 1 through Dirty Hit/Interscope Records. Pre-orders for both physical and digital formats are available here.
