Emarosa ended 2018 on a high note. In November the band released “Givin’ Up,” a fantastically catchy earworm that served as the beginning of a new era for the Kentucky quartet. The group also announced their fifth album Peach Club would be out in February 2019. Emarosa are picking up right where they left off in the new year. Today they released “Don’t Cry,” the second single from their upcoming album, which is now just a month away from release.

“Don’t Cry” keeps the uptempo and melodic elements the band introduced in “Givin’ Up,” but uses them in a much more melancholy setting. The track finds vocalist Bradley Walden stuck in a whirlwind of emotional harm, as the cycle of heartbreak repeats over and over. Walden switches from powerfully belting the lyrics to delivering some lines with the intensity of a whisper in a truly gripping vocal performance. Finger snaps and clean production pair up with drums and the guitar wizardry we know Emarosa are capable of to create a sound that’s both complex and melodically pleasing. This is another track from the band that is easy to sing along to, and even easier to get lost in all the small details. The lyric video is also captivating, with some beautiful animation to illustrate the story of the track.
